Chi Omega, delta kappa History
The Chi Omega fraternity was founded on April 5, 1895 at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. Its five founders are Ina May Boles, Jobelle Holcome, Alice Simonds, Jean Vincenheller and Dr. Charles Richardson. This first chapter was named the psi chapter. Dr. Charles Richardson was an initiated member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity but helped the girls to charter this new organization. Richardson was a well known dentist in the area and crafted their first pin out of dental gold.
Chi O has six purposes that are very important to each member of the sorority. The six purposes are friendship, high standards of personnel, sincere learning and credible scholarship, participation in campus activities, career development and community service. The delta kappa chapter of this fraternity was founded on April 17, 1982. Our philanthropy is the Make-a-Wish foundation and we work hard to grant a wish every year. This year we managed to raise enough money to grant two wishes!

The Writer
I am a new member of the delta kappa chapter of the Chi Omega fraternity. I went through the rush process in September and am now proudly a part of the Fall'14 pledge class. We are not yet initiated, this event occurs in January. Chi Omega requires the highest GPA therefore we are the last of the sororities to be initiated. Even though it has only been a few months, Chi Omega is my life and I try to live by our symphony and values every day. Rushing not only into greek life but to Chi Omega is the best decision I have ever made for myself.
